The Canadian Alumni of Singapore, in conjunction with the Singapore Scout Guild is organizing the screening of the popular film "881"
- based on Singapore's very own colorful backdrop of the 7th month Getai (local musical roadshow).
The film tells the story of two girls - the Papaya Sisters with a dream to be Getai singers. Through perseverance, hard work and support
from their friends, they become the most popular sister act in town. Featuring glitzy costumes, sentimental oldies and lavish choreography,
the movie climaxes in a dramatic musical battle between the Papaya sisters and their Getai rivals, the Durian Sisters.
There will be a Q & A session after the show. The Producer Mr Freddie Yeo will be there to answer your questions.
The two main actresses, Mindy Ong and Yeo Yann Yann are also expected to be joining us.
