There are over 13,000 Canadian alumni working and living in Singapore, and many more in the region. Every year, there are also hundreds of students on exchange between Singapore and Canadian universities.
The Singapore-Canada Learning Exchange (SCLE) will provide a platform for the sharing of knowledge and experience between our education and research institutions and the business, government and community sectors. It will aim to involve youth, to inspire in them the value of lifelong learning and of learning from others through the exchange of ideas and collaboration. We intend the scope and opportunities to be extended to youth in ASEAN and beyond.
The SCLE Fund and programme will be managed by the CA-S Executive Committee under the guidance and approval of the CA-S Board of Advisors. The current CA-S Board comprises the following distinguished alumni: Chairman, Mr Tan Guong Ching; Vice-Chairman, H.E. David Sevigny, Canadian High Commissioner; Members – Mr Er Kwong Wah, Mr Lim Soo Ping, Mr Tan Boon Huat, Prof Wee Chow Hou, and Mr Wah Geok Sum.
Collaboration with business, education and research institutions, government, the community and alumni and continued contribution to the SCLE Fund will be welcome to help sustain and develop the programme.
