You can also email Charlie Soh, 2nd Vice-President of AIS for more details. Please let me know if you are keen to support a worthy cause.

2010 is Canada and Singapore's shared Olympic year. The Vancouver Winter Games were amazing - no matter where we were,
Canadians were so proud of our country, our teams and the unparalled welcome the people of BC gave to the world.
There's no doubt the Canadian community here in Singapore was as caught up in the Games as anyone back in Vancouver
- even with 4 am starts to certain finals!
With this August's inaugural Youth Olympic Games taking place in Singapore, we have the unique opportunity to get involved and cheer
on our up and coming athletes in person. Come out and welcome them to Singapore at a dinner on August 12, meet up with their friends and
families along with the rest of the community in the evenings at our informal "Canada House". Details to follow on each of these soon.
But you can also be an extension of Team Canada through the Homestay Programme being organised by the High Commission in conjunction with
the Canadian Olympic Committee. Host the parents or siblings of our athletes and share their pride in our young stars. As any hockey
parent knows, it takes a tremendous amount of dedication on the part of athletes' families as they develop in their sports and as we all
know , Singapore is a long way from home. Your generosity will make it that much easier for our Olympians to have their number one fans
cheer them on in person.
The Games take place from August 12 to 26 but just 3-4 nights bed and breakfast is being sought per family and all offers are very much
appreciated. We'll try to mach up families with accommodation nearest the sport their athlete is competing in but also try to match for
language, pet allergies and smoking/non smoking. Please also feel free to add in any additional match criteria that you would you require.
The registration form is attached but don't hesitate to contact the
Public Affairs section at the High Commission should you wish additional information on the Homestay Programme or other Youth Olympic Games
events. Our telephone number is 6854-5846.
